Going From Buff to Blah

Spring has sprung this week and with it has come a slew of posts from my peers (dad bloggers) about weight loss and getting in shape for the summer. In the past, I have been very concerned about my physical appearance, but I have to admit that things started to change a few years ago.

It's hard for full-time parents to find time to work out (lame excuse), and I'm busy with work and publishing multiple websites (chatting on Twitter). I sent a message to Jim at BusyDad congratulating him on his efforts to lose weight and join PG at Annoyingly Boring in his journey to wellness. Jim replied that he had to make it public to motivate himself, so I'm going to try a similar approach.

Here is what I looked like at 18 in college (BAMF):

Here's what I looked like at 27 when Lori and I first got married (DILF):

And, now, here I am now at 35 (BLAH-BLAH-BLAH):

Here is what I anticipate looking like in the next 10 years if I stay on my current path (BLAH-BLUE-BLAH - only the blue haired ladies will find me attractive):

I'm not as video savvy as Jim and PG, so I'll just rely on posting periodic updates about my progress back toward buffness.

Also, be sure to check out the latest post by Danny at Dad Gone Mad An Open Letter to My Pecs. His post was the last straw that lead me to get off my ass and do something to get motivated.

I refuse to be a fatty again this summer!
